We have left behind a second year of the Covid pandemic, where travel restrictions continued to be a disruption in the relatively low-tech stamp business and our ability to engage with our very international client base. Nonetheless, in 2021 David Feldman S.A. managed to surpass € 12 million in total sales in philately.

 

Some of the highlights of the year included the Lenz Meyer postal history of China and Japan, the “Nikolai” collection of Russia, as well as the extraordinary “Imperium” collection of British Guiana, one of the most prestigious territories in worldwide philately. In essentially separating this collection from our intensely busy spring and late autumn auction periods, we were able to produce a “flagship” catalogue with in-depth research of the history and provenance of the great pieces of the country, also including censuses of other similar items and their provenances; and we are glad to hear from collectors that they consider this work as a piece of philatelic literature which will leave a legacy well beyond the short shelf-life of a normal auction catalogue. Despite the challenging work, we of course will be delighted to offer a similar service to our clientele to present other highly important collections in the future.

 

Note also that in 2022 we will continue to offer sales of numismatics in partnership with Numisor, where the entire auction process is handled by the trusted team at David Feldman. The coin market is buoyant these days and we can also offer you a one-stop service for clients holding coins as well as stamps.

 

We have embarked on 2022 with the same passion, discernment and enthusiasm as in 2021, always motivated to pursue excellence in our services, and reinforced by the support of our estimated clientele. I therefore want to personally thank them, vendors and buyers, who have combined to make another successful year for our international company; it is a true privilege to have you as friends/clients.
