The Dr. Casey Russian Maritime Collection will be sold at the David Feldman Galleries in Geneva on the week of November 28th.
There are over 600 lots covering all aspects of Russian maritime postal history, including lake mail and river mail. The catalogue is divided up by regions whether it be the Arctic Routes or the steamship cancels applied along the River Volga or in the Caspian or Black Sea.
There is significant interest for collectors of Levant and the Far East with strong sections of both areas.
Throughout the catalogue there are many unique items of ship mail including a wealth of registered and postage due covers. And there are many large specialized collections and accumulations throughout so viewing is essential. All the material on offer will be scanned.
Not all the material present is written up on exhibition leaves as failing health and eyesight meant that Dr. Casey did not get round to mounting a substantial part of his collection.
Furthermore there will be a substantial offering of other Russian material to complement this sale.
The lots will be available by mid-October on our website.
