Lot 20759 – 1861/63 Lot of prepaid sent from Galati to Constantinople, different rates
Austrian Consular Post in Romania (Levant): 1861/63 Lot of prepaid entire letters from the Theologo correspondence sent from Galati to Constantinople, Turkey. All bear the FRANCO handstamp (Tchilinghirian Fig. 746) and the “GALLATZ” cds (Tchilinghirian Fig. 743), but show different rates paid written on reverse (35k, 70k and 10k). An interesting lot for the student of postal history, in generally fine condition.
