Austrian Field Post in Romania (Levant): 1856 Crimean War, Austrian occupation in Wallachia (Craiova). Official mail sent on 7.4.1856 from Craiova, bearing the strike of of “K.K.ÖST.F.P. KRAJOVA” Field Post Office cds (Tchilinghirian Fig. 735) sent to Bardolino, Veneto, Italy; via Orsova (9.4) where it received the “gereiniget b.k.k. Rastelamte / ALT ORSOVA” disinfection cachet, and Temesvar 11.4 (now Timisoara). A scarce item, in fine condition.Auction
