Austrian Field Post in Romania (Levant): 1856 Crimean War, Austrian occupation in Wallachia (Craiova). Official mail sent on 7.4.1856 from Craiova, bearing the strike of of « K.K.ÖST.F.P. KRAJOVA” Field Post Office cds (Tchilinghirian Fig. 735) sent to Bardolino, Veneto, Italy; via Orsova (9.4) where it received the « gereiniget b.k.k. Rastelamte / ALT ORSOVA » disinfection cachet, and Temesvar 11.4 (now Timisoara). A scarce item, in fine condition.
