Dublin City – Camden Street: 1840 (29.1) Folded entire used in the first month of the Uniform Penny Post, addressed to Tetbury in Gloucestershire, prepaid “1” in red manuscript, showing on face the mixed typeface Post Paid at/CAMDEN St. of Dublin in black, also boxed PAID/JA.29.E/1840 in red alongside, a rare marking of the Dublin Penny Post used in the Uniform Penny Post Period.
Note: Kane and Dittmann’s attribution of this marking to 1834 may be erroneous.
