1815 entire letter from Scotland to Montreal Canada, from London forwarded (with manuscript endorsement) from Glasgow, signed by the Earl of Buckinghamshire at lower left, the front with a fine strike of oval “SHIP LETTER/QUEBEC” in black and “P10” and “11 1/2” in red manuscript, the reverse showing a fine strike of the unique small diameter “WITHDRAWNSHIP LETTER / GREENOCK / (CROWN)/POST PAID” very rare being the only known example and the only known port using it. Very fine.
