1829 (March 21st) Folded entire from Santiago de Cuba to London endorsed “pr. B. George Bintinck”, showing a red two line “COVE SHIP • LETTER”, rated treble “4/9” and calculated as follows 8d ship letter rate + 2d Milford packer rate + Cove to Waterford 116 miles – Milford to London 258 miles = 374 miles 1/1d =1/11d x 3 =5/9d). The recipient of this letter was undercharged by 1/-, a wonderful strike of this scarce shipletter mkg.
