1870 (April 2). Cover front from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, endorsed “p ‘La Plata’ “, franked by 1858-69 2d blue, plate 9, in block of four, tied by “C83” barred oval with matching “Rio-de-Janeiro/Paid” red cds at left. The franking overlapped the edge of the cover at left, thus resulting in a fold at left. A very rare multiple on cover.
