Lot 20106 – 1856 Veracruz 4 Reales Red on Express cover

Veracruz 4r red, very good margins all around, lightly tied on dispatch by cds, used on April 3, 1861 entire letter to Puebla, endorsed “p. Express” and therefore paying double the normal rate. Very few express covers are known in this issue; this was used in the month when the issue was demonetised.
