Lot 50248 – 1871 (Sept 1) Return receipt bearing 2b and 3b with broken “S” in “POSTA” possibly a unique example on cover

1871 (Sept 1) Return receipt which accompanied a registered letter sent from Dorohoi, bearing a superb mixed franking of the 2b orange with four good to large margins, and the 3b violet large to huge margins showing the spectacular variety broken “S” in “POSTA”, tied by scroll type A65 cds, paying the 5b fee for a return receipt; central vertical crease which has been reinforced, horizontal crease through top of 2b, some wear to edges as would be expected for such a document; however an attractive item and an extraordinarily rare combination, the 3b in superb condition with the variety; which is only present on one position of the six different stones, possibly a unique example of this variety on cover; cert.
