1857 (Feb 27) Wrapper to London endorsed “Recomandirt” and with ink cross, strikes of “RUSSIE” and curved “Recomand.” hs in black, boxed “Recomandirt” in red, sent via Aachen where “(CROWN) / REGISTERED” hs and “P.” in circle were applied, London arrival, reverse with Kracau despatch and boxed transit handstamp some manuscript rate marks including the despatch calculation 21/15 on the reverse, attractive and scarce, ex Alan Holyoake RDP FRPSL.
