1857 (Feb 27) Wrapper to London endorsed « Recomandirt » and with ink cross, strikes of « RUSSIE » and curved « Recomand. » hs in black, boxed « Recomandirt » in red, sent via Aachen where « (CROWN) / REGISTERED » hs and « P. » in circle were applied, London arrival, reverse with Kracau despatch and boxed transit handstamp some manuscript rate marks including the despatch calculation 21/15 on the reverse, attractive and scarce, ex Alan Holyoake RDP FRPSL.
