1840 1d Mulready envelope cancelled with a fine strike of the ruby Maltese cross of Aberdeen, clear “Aberdeen Jun 25 1840” backstamp which displays well on top flap, small repaired tear at top and slightly soiled, but a very rare cross on the Mulready (many examples are known on penny black entires but Rockoff and Jackson record only four on the Mulready, this example being the fifth), cert. Mike Jackson (2022) (S.G. £4’000).
