1840 1d Mulready envelope cancelled with a fine strike of the ruby Maltese cross of Aberdeen, clear “Aberdeen Jun 25 1840” backstamp which displays well on top flap, small repaired tear at top and slightly soiled, but a very rare cross on the Mulready (many examples are known on penny black entires but Rockoff and Jackson record only four on the Mulready, this example being the fifth), cert.
