LEBANON USA and Lebanon unusual dual country usage 1866 Envelope from Beirut to Tolland, CT, USA, franked France 1862 20c blue (2) and 80c, tied GC5082 by BEYROUTH/3.SEPT.66 cds, with faint “N.York Am Pkt – Paid” entry mkg in red, with red “9” denotes a credit by France for 6 cents single letter rate carrued by an American vessel, plus 3 cents US internal postage, the US 1861 3c was applied in Beirut and was also cancelled by the GC5082 but serves no purpose, nevertheless and attractive and scarce oddity Estimate: € 2’000 – € 3’000
