1866 Envelope from Beirut to Tolland, CT, USA, franked France 1862 20c blue (2) and 80c, tied GC5082 by BEYROUTH/3.SEPT.66 cds, with faint « N.York Am Pkt – Paid » entry mkg in red, with red « 9 » denotes a credit by France for 6 cents single letter rate carrued by an American vessel, plus 3 cents US internal postage, the US 1861 3c was applied in Beirut and was also cancelled by the GC5082 but serves no purpose, nevertheless and attractive and scarce oddity
