1870 (4.12) Envelope with contents sent from Waterford to Norway, showing a small circular WATERFORD/H/DE.4/70 ds and matching linear UNPAID RATE and the distinctive squat all-in ship letter rate handstamp “8”, this was used to indicate the postage due to UK (unusual) and on arrival in Norway a blue internal “21” skilling due was applied, showing HULL/A/DE.6/70/SHIP LETTER and TVEDESTRAND/14.12.1870 cds’s, very fine, unusual and scarce usage.
