1789-1860s, collection of 37 pre-stamp covers (mostly sent abroad) from the regions of Russia, Estonia, Finland and Ukraine mounted on album pages, incl. very fine strike of the small font “ST .PETERSBVRG” on 1789 entire, 1794 cover with small “MOCKBA”, 1818 Cyrillic Ostrov hs, 1868 cover from Tiflis, 1835 & 1837 covers with Cyrillic Helsinki hs and two with italic “Abo.”, etc., with a range of postal markings and transit hs such as “AUSS RUSSLAND”, “AUS RUSSLAND / FRANCO”, “AUS RUSSLAND / EISENB. POST. BURV”, “AUS RUSSLAND über BUR. XI EDK. BRG.”, etc., the quality being above normal for the condition and strikes, a lovely lot.
