Lot 10305 – 1948, Centenary of the Death of Ibrahim Pasha, handpainted
1948, Centenary of the Death of Ibrahim Pasha In 1948 it was decided to issue a commemorative for the death centenary of Ibrahim Pasha. A presentation card, dated June 9, 1948, with three essays, one vertical and two horizontal, was prepared. The vertical design is a photographic essay of a portrait of Ibrahim Pasha as a statesman with the inscriptions hand-painted in white. The two horizontal essays are entirely hand-painted. One shows the city and port of Acre on the Palestinian coast. The other shows the Naval battle at Acre, where Ibrahim Pasha defeated the Turks. This last essay was accepted after slight modifications.
