Lancaster: 1814 (Dec 28) entire from St. Croix, Danish West Indies, sent to Scotland, endorsed “p Sterling” via Lancaster”, with a good strike of the crown “SHIP LETTER / LANCASTER” entry cachet in black (Robertson S4, noted as scarce by Tabeart), ms “1/4” and “1/6” rates, octagonal ds and Scottish “Addl 1/2” wheel tax hs, a fine example.
