Channel Islands: 1844 (Jun 13) envelope from the Channel Islands to London with 1841 1d red-brown pl.41 BH-BI horizontal pair, margins close or touched at sides, tied by two strikes of the very scarce black MC of the Channel Islands, reverse with “SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP-LETTER” and London arrival, some soiling but an important and rare Channel Islands cover, one of only 16 covers recorded with this Maltese Cross listed by Rockoff & Jackson; cert. RPS (1977).
