Description

1840 1d black pl.7 FA-GF, the magnificent mint never hinged horizontal block of twelve from the left of the sheet on experimental thin paper, with full deckle edge margin at left, showing part inscription “Back be careful not to remove the Cem” and with large balanced margins on other sides, large part original gum; a beautifully fresh exhibition quality block of the highest calibre.

Certainly one of the finest multiples of the 1840 One Penny Black. A piece for the philatelic connoisseur.
