1898 Registered advice of receipt letter from Mecca to Nimes, showing unrecorded oval Registered Mecca N. 304 handstamp on front alongside framed “A.R.”. On reverse franked by 1pi grey and 2pi yellow-brown, tied by black double circle Arabic Mecca, also Suez transit and Nimes arrival 28 Aug 1898. Manuscript endorsements on front “A.R.” and “Via Suez and Alexandrie”. A Very rare example of registered mail with advice of receipt from Mecca.
