1938 “Birth Centenary of Painter Nicolae Grigorescu” imperforate set on cover with the letterhead of the House of H.M. The King, cancelled by favour on a local cover, postmarked Bucharest 10/2/1940, with the arrival marking on the reverse from the same day. Only 200 such sets were made for King Carol II, well known stamp collector, and few covers with the complete set are known to exist. Topical interest: art, paintings. Very fine condition, rare. Cert.
