Lot 80703 – Unpaid letter from Trieste (Jul. 4/16, 1868) to Si

1868 Unpaid letter from Trieste (Jul. 4/16, 1868) to Siros (Jul. 10/22, 1868), taxed at the arrival at 140 lepta, written on blue pencil, corresponding to an unpaid letter from 10 to 20 grams (double rate) according to the 1850 & 1867 conventions and to the circulaire n°9 of Apr. 10, 1868 (applicable starting May 1, 1868) between Greece & Austria and Greece & Austrian Lloyd. All the stamps are from the consecutive Athens printings (1862/1867) with good to large margins except one of the three 40 lepta, touched at one margin. The 20 lepta has the plate flaw of the “ligne horizontale dans le cartouche supérieur” (Positions 23 or 29).
