Lot 80703 – Unpaid letter from Trieste (Jul. 4/16, 1868) to Si

1868 Unpaid letter from Trieste (Jul. 4/16, 1868) to Siros (Jul. 10/22, 1868), taxed at the arrival at 140 lepta, written on blue pencil, corresponding to an unpaid letter from 10 to 20 grams (double rate) according to the 1850 & 1867 conventions and to the circulaire n°9 of Apr. 10, 1868 (applicable starting May 1, 1868) between Greece & Austria and Greece & Austrian Lloyd. All the stamps are from the consecutive Athens printings (1862/1867) with good to large margins except one of the three 40 lepta, touched at one margin. The 20 lepta has the plate flaw of the « ligne horizontale dans le cartouche supérieur » (Positions 23 or 29).
