Lot 80647 – Insufficiently prepaid letter sent from Patras (Ap

1864 Insufficiently prepaid letter sent from Patras (April 2nd,1864) to Pyrgos. Taxed at 20 lepta, the domestic rate for a letter up to 15 grams. The black rectangular postmark “ΠΛΗΡ. ΑΝΕΠΑΡΚΗΣ” for “Insufficiently paid” was affixed as this letter was a double rate (from 15 to 30 grams) and a tax of 20 lepta was applied at the arrival in Pyrgos. The two 20 lepta are from one of the consecutive Athens printings (1862/1867).
