The Robert Hisey eight-frame gold medal-winning collection is beautifully mounted and expertly written up on 112 pages, with the collector’s knowledge reflected throughout in much of the unique information pertain to this emblematic Finnish issue. Please note that the first frame was dismounted, but the material for the first frame is contained in a separate folder.

The collection is split into the following sections First No wmk Issue, Vassa Provisionals, 1919 UPU overprints, Second No wmk Issue, 1921 UPU overprints, Third No wmk Issue, Swastika wmk Issue, Post Horn wmk Issue, White Paper Issue and finally the Afterprint sheetlets.

These Lion Issues are shown in practically every possible facet from the composite First issue 5p complete copper electrotype, die proofs in black, unissued Specimen sheetlet, UPU Specimens of Madagascar, UPU Specimens overprinted COLONIAS, the fours unique Faberge sheetlets printed by Finlands Banks Sedeltrykeri etc., the rest of the collections shows mint and used, with blocks and larger multiples, perf. variations including imperforate errors with the unique 1919 10p green only known imperforate single, some unique perforations including 1919 10p green, 50p blue both with perf. 14 1/4 x 14 3/4, misperfs, double perfs., imperf. between pairs, plate flaws, printing errors, imperforate gutter pairs, watermark varieties showing some rare inverted wmk errors plus much more, postal history with an extensive array of usages from printed matter, single frankings, registered usages, parcels cards and some rare and unique high frankings.
