1865 (Apr 26) Entire letter from Port Elizabeth to Willmore franked with single De La Rue 4d deep blue paying the internal rate for a single letter, fine to large margins, tied by barred oval numeral “2” in black with “PORT ELIZABETH” AP 26 65 despatch adjacent, reverse with red oval wax seal of “SOUTH AFRICAN CENTRAL BANK GRAAFF REINETT” as well as further despatch cds, a good example of a late use of Cape Triangular stamps during the period when the rectangular stamps were available.
