Description

Postal Stationery Cards: Group of five 1d stationery cards, three overprinted “Niger Coast Protectorate” incl. uprated with 2d lake and registered to England with message on reverse: “No difference between British + Africa and African SS Co” along with dates of all the ports called at by the SS Bathurst, another to Sweden cancelled in transit by Liverpool Paquebot double circle cds and one sent from the Vince Consul in Benin with squared circle cancel, and two overprinted “Oil Rivers” with one sent 1893 (Jan 4) from Old Calabar regarding the shortage of stamps and one unused with “SPECIMEN” ovpt, a great little group.
