Description
1866 provisional 6a, purple with large “POSTAGE” overprint in green, together with QV 8p, tied by B/1numeral in blue and indistinct strike of large circular Calcutta to part of letter. With red “CALCUTTA INDIA PAID/NO21/66” circular datestamp in red. On reverse is endorsement “Via Bombay/Marseille” and circular Liverpool 22 Dec 66 transit. A rare and fresh stamp, except for a little scratch at top. Catalogue ref: S.G. 29
