1861 Perot’s Second Issue Postmaster’s Provisional (1d) carmine-red “PAID / AT / HAMILTON. BERMUDA” on bluish laid paper, imperf. with fine to large margins, cancelled by pen cross on 1861 (Mar 9) envelope sent to Somerset with despatch cds adjacent. The finest recorded cover of any Bermuda Postmaster’s stamps, and the only one in absolutely pristine condition. According to the Williams census only 3 singles and 2 covers are recorded (S.G. £110’000 as a used single).
