Description
1898 (May 16) Registered envelope from Shanghai to the German Consulate at Canton, paying eleven times the single rate with 1892-98 20pf vertical pair and 1898 overprinted 50pf vertical pair, tied by dispatch cds, with British Hong Kong cds and five paper seals of the German Consulate at Shanghai on reverse, a very scarce mixed “Vorläufer”-“Mitläufer” franking on internal mail.
