Lot 40201 – 1898 Internal registered mail bearing mixed franking featuring non overprinted and overprinted stamps

1898 (May 16) Registered envelope from Shanghai to the German Consulate at Canton, paying eleven times the single rate with 1892-98 20pf vertical pair and 1898 overprinted 50pf vertical pair, tied by dispatch cds, with British Hong Kong cds and five paper seals of the German Consulate at Shanghai on reverse, a very scarce mixed “Vorläufer”-“Mitläufer” franking on internal mail.
