1895 (Jan 14) Small cover to Paris (Kempler correspondence), struck on reverse with “CUSTOMS/TIENTSIN” cds on dispatch and “CUSTOMS/SHANGHAI” cds, both in blue, showing on front blue “TIENTSIN CUSTOMS/MAIL MATTER” oval hs and overprinted Sage 25c (defective in lower left corner), tied by “SHANG-HAÏ/CHINE” cds (broken inner circle); a rare cover exhibiting the “Mail Matter” hs applied on official correspondence.
