1840 1d Intense Black pl.1b AB top marginal showing partial marginal inscription, just touched at left, tied to 1840 (Aug 23) entire from Talvans, Landrake (Cornwall) to Dublin, Ireland, by neat red-brown Maltese Cross, above a crisp strike of the “Landrake / Penny Post” hs, reverse with Devonport and arrival ds, very fine and eye-catching franking, ex Bill Gross.
