Lot 95507 – 1922, letter sent from Meched to Sukur, Sind, India
1922, letter sent from Meched to Sukur, Sind, India, bearing a single 1911 1 kr blue and carmine, paying the foreign letter rate. Stamp tied to cover by Meched (Départ) 20 May 22, and next to it is transit Nassirabad-Sistan (Arrivée) 2 June. On reverse are circular Dozdar 5 June and Duzdab Indian Exchange PO 6 June, Sucker arrival 10 June 22. Also on front is purple cachet Hendostan probably applied at Sistan. A very fine entity with the postmark of Dozdub, the last Indian PO exchange to operate in Persia (1919-1926).
