Lot 80690 – 1929-1941 A small set of 4 very important AIRMAIL covers
1929-1941 A small set of 4 very important AIRMAIL covers with research notes and history. 1929 First imperial airmail letter between England-India incoming cover from UK with KGV mixed frankings. 1933 First airmail service Rangoon-London via Karachi cover bearing KGV 3p (SG151) and 3a (SG221) mixed franking with clear Rangoon cancels (with notes and history of the cover). 1939 Airmail cover with artwork signed by rocketmail pioneer Stephen Smith and franked with 1a (SG159) and 2a (SG220, signed by the design artist G Grant in selvage, very rare, see Markand Dave book) KGV stamps going from Jodhpur – Karachi. 1941 Pigeon carried letter from Kalyan to Bombay franked with 1a3p SERVICE ovpt KGV stamp (SGO125), scarce. All varying from clean, good and mixed condition. A great lot for AIRMAIL collectors.
