1963 ASHOK STAMBHA Original artwork for stamps made by Mr Pradhan who worked at De La Rue, London office for Indian stamps. Even after end of British rule in India the Indian Security Press at Nasik regularly met with De la Rue officials for artist feedback and idea sharing. This artwork originated during those meetings and shows the depiction of ASHOK STAMBHA (Lion pillar) which is national symbol of India and used everywhere from currency, watermarks, stamps and passports. The original archival artwork, made with black ink on a scratch board, is signed by the artist and measures 263x420mm. A must for any India collector and a perfect exhibition showpiece. UNIQUE item.
