1847 (8th August) entire to London endorsed at top “By Precursor via Southampton”, reverse with framed red handstamp with manuscript detail of Dum Dum, the ship having left the item was carried by the “Bentinck”, not a government vessel so red Calcutta/ Ship Letter handstamp applied and not Steam Letter
