1947 KGVI “SERVICE” overprint in violet on 12a mint n.h. pair. On 15th August 1947, Indian stamps were overprinted “star & crescent and Mumalakat kudadad-e- Bahawalpur” by rubber die immediately after Bahawalpur became independent state. Machine Overprint from “Nasik” were not available arrived later. The “overprint” Indian stamps remain in use till October 03rd 1947. Slightly toned gum, fine and very rare, fine unused.
