Description
1947 KGVI “SERVICE” overprint in black on 1a3p mint (only a tiny speck on gum of one stamp) right marginal pair. On 15th August 1947, Indian stamps were overprinted “star & crescent and Mumalakat kudadad-e- Bahawalpur” by rubber die immediately after Bahawalpur became independent state. Machine Overprint from “Nasik” were not available arrived later. The “overprint” Indian stamps remain in use till October 3rd 1947. Very fine and very rare and few copies known.
