Description
1947 KGV “SERVICE” overprint in black on 1a3p mint n.h. pair. On 15th August 1947, Indian stamps were overprinted “star & crescent and Mumalakat kudadad-e- Bahawalpur” by rubber die immediately after Bahawalpur became independent state. Machine Overprint from “Nasik” were not available arrived later. The “overprint” Indian stamps remain in use till October 03rd 1947. Diagonal gum bend, fine and very rare.
