Description
1947 KGV “SERVICE” overprint in red on 9p mint n.h. vertical pair. On 15th August 1947, Indian stamps were overprinted “star & crescent and Mumalakat kudadad-e- Bahawalpur” by rubber die immediately after Bahawalpur became independent state. Machine Overprint from “Nasik” were not available arrived later. The “overprint” Indian stamps remain in use till October 03rd 1947. Toned gum, very fine and very rare.
