1846 Entire in English dated 14 March to Boston, USA, endorsed “Via Marseille”, written from Zante and probably carried on HMS Volcano to Malta where Malta Paid double arc date stamp on front and similar without Paid on reverse, carried from there by HMS Locust to Marseille though no transit mark applied, thence to London and Liverpool and red cursive SHIP/6 applied in red on arrival, the top left shows a fine strike of the Maltese forwarding agents cachet, some hinge reinforcements to the entire, a fine transatlantic cover.
