Lot 85478 – Ionian Islands 1837 registered Santa Maura to Corfu entire

1837 (9 September) entire to Corfu bearing green Santa Maura scroll despatch date stamp on reverse, the same date as letter, front with fine double circle Posta Pagata prepayment mark in same colour, red manuscript charge in centre, also endorsed to left with “Raccomand” in same pen, a rare early registered item for which very little information currently exists.
