Austrian Field Post in Romania (Levant): 1856 Crimean War, Austrian occupation in Wallachia (Craiova). 1850 large margins examples of 9kr blue and 6kr brown, on 28.2.1856 civil cover to Vienna, tied by a very fine strike of “K.K.ÖST.F.P. KRAJOVA” Field Post Office cds (Tchilinghirian Fig. 735), via Orsova 29.2 where it received disinfection punches and the faint “gereiniget b.k.k. Rastelamte / ALT ORSOVA” disinfection cachet, Temesvar (Timisoara, 2.3) and arrival Wien 5.3. Some horizontal file folds clear of the adhesives and some notations, otherwise a scarce cover; Müller 3444a, 375pts.
