Lot 20615 – 40 parale blue, cancelled large JASSY MOLDOVA CDS in red (M2 type)

40 parale blue, featuring the elusive, superbly centered large JASSY MOLDOVA cds in red (M2 type, K. Dragomir fig. 292) dated ’10/5.’ This 1859 postmark was intended for use on official mail and money sendings, and therefore, it should normally not be found on stamps. Kiriac Dragomir did not record it on stamps, and Heimbüchler considered it very rare. Tiny shallow scuffs, not detracting from its fine appearance. Ex Cornelia. Signed Heimbüchler. Cert.
