Cavan – Ballyconnell: 1848 Mourning envelope from Liverpool to Miss J. Benison, Mount Pleasant, Ballyconnell, manuscript “Above 1/2 oz more to pay”, with handstruck “2” and unframed MORE TO PAY, plus clear Derrylin/Ballyconnell italic receiving house mkg in blue alongside, a fine and scarce
Note: In the 18th century the Benison family were mill owners in the Ballyconnell area of county Cavan. The first family home was Mount Pleasant on the outskirts of Ballyconnell.
