1856 (Jul 31) 1d Mulready lettersheet (A229) to from Ventnor Isle of Wight to Newcastle on Tyne, with red “More to Pay” handstamp and “2 to Pay” in manuscript, and bearing a 1d pink postal stationery cut out, cancelled by an 1844 type “971” for Ventnor, the reverse showing Bonchurch void double-arc, Ventnor, London and Newcastle transit marks, an outstanding late usage, and extremely rare; cert.
